Organic Pigments

Red

Naphthol Reds: This group of pigments are azo type pigments and produce hundreds of shades of very yellow to very blue shade naphthol reds. Only selected key products are listed here. This group of pigments offer high tint strength with clean shades, and fair to light fastness; overall performance is better in masstone than tint.

Quinacridone Reds: This group of pigments are classified as high performance because of there excellent light fastness, heat, solvent & chemical resistance in masstone with shades ranging from orange to yellowish red to bluish red to violet. Overall performance in tint is also good.

Disazo Condensation Red: This pigment offers excellent light fastness, heat, solvent & chemical resistance in masstone with wide range of end applications such as textile printing, ink, plastic and coatings.

Anthraquinone Red: PR 177 is a modified vat non-perylene red pigment with very bright red shade, excellent light fastness, heat, solvent & chemical resistance in masstone with wide range of end applications such as textile printing, ink, plastic and coatings.

Benzimidazolone Red: This pigment is relatively new, but very popular for plastic, PVC and coating applications because of its excellent light fastness, and heat, solvent & chemical resistance in masstone.

Diketopyrrolopyrrle Red: This pigment is relatively new, but very popular for plastic, PVC and coating applications because of its excellent light fastness, and heat, solvent & chemical resistance in masstone. This pigment group is modified to suit end application such as coating (transparent) & plastic (opaque).

Red 2B: Once very popular pigment used for ink, paint, PVC and plastic. There are four popular pigments:

  • PR 48:1 – Ba-Barium – Yellow shade for ink, PVC and plastic
  • PR 48:2 – Ca-Calcium – Blue shade for ink, PVC and plastic
  • PR 48:3 - Sr – Strontium – Medium shade for plastic
  • PR 48:4 – Mn – Manganese – Very blue shade for paint only – Do not use for plastic

Lithol Red:

BON Red:

Red Lake C: Yellow shade red; mainly used for ink application.

Lithol Rubine: Blue shade red; widely used pigment for the ink industry and very seldom used for paints.
